Hi All
I am the mail administrator for mail.lionrampant.co.uk and we are in the process of setting up e-mail to sms capabilities for our users. I use the surgemail platform as the software for our mail server as it is a great product, it also has it's sms gateway which unlike it's mail server programme is well below par. Due to incopmpatibility with my gsm I looked around for a better gateway software and found active sms. Quick install, everything ran first time. Here is my setup.
Surgemail is able to filter individual mails to a users requirement and forward a matching criteria to an sms-gateway, the mail server sends the e-mail to my sms-gateway (windows 2000 AS) in the format <mobile number>@sms.local> the mail server controls filtering and any limitations I impose. Everyhting rocks and all is great accept for 1 issue.
The mobile recieving the sms displays as part of the message body:
This is a multi-part message in MIME format (etc etc etc)
This is too many characters to actually display the message on the recieving mobile, sending it is plain text format does cure the problem but that cannot be the solution since it would be absurd to ask all my customers to ask all their e-mail senders to send in palin text?
Can you see any resolution to this issue.
Thanks
