I've been trying to setup a Nokia 6233 connected to my XP machine using a USB Cable. I have installed ActiveSMS and going through the setup wizard to establish connectivity.

At the “Test Transport” stage, do not see any options to select USB, only COM Ports from “Comms Ports” options.

I selected COM1 and then went ahead with the option to test the transport. It goes through a few tests with the OK result, but fails right at the end.

You will need to install a driver that came with your USB Cable.

The driver will make a virtual comm post available to ActiveSMS. You must select this virtual comm port in the ActiveSMS Console.

There was no "driver" with the cable. It's a USB cable that physically connects the phone to the USB port of the machine.

I also installed PC Suite and the phone is recognised by the machine itself.

The PC Suite should make a virtual comm port available.

The PC Suite software from Nokia, did not have any information with regards the Comm port to use. I found out via Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options and when I'm doing the setup and using ActiveSMS Test, it works ok.

I've tried setting up eMail integration and now I have a different problem from the Console under "Transports" section. It goes between Connected and Comms Failure for SMS Transport.
